Invictus Maneo Collection

As the Dust Settles

A$900.00

A wild Salt River stallion walks away after a challenge, victorious and unbowed. The dust of conflict still hangs in the air, softening the landscape and obscuring the struggle that has just passed.
This painting marked my first exploration of both the wild horses of Arizona's Tonto National Forest and the challenge of painting dust as a living element within a composition. Rather than depicting the battle itself, I chose to capture the quiet moment that follows—the return to stillness, vigilance, and endurance.
Part of the Invictus Maneo collection, this work honours the resilience of the Salt River horses, whose future remains uncertain despite the dedication of those who continue to advocate for their protection.

The portrait of Jac hangs where l see it many times a day, reawakening the love we shared through our many years together. I get so much joy from this painting.

Deni captured his presence and gentle personality perfectly.
